Hal’s discussion will be similar to one that will be given to National University of Singapore, NUS, and the Business Angel Network South East Asia (BANSEA) on October 30 and will provide insights on the role of Angel investors in the start process. Angels, for example, invest in Partnerships, similar to VC funds, but the Angels collectively act as very sophisticated “Limiteds” in a VC fund. Entrepreneurs name the price, but the investors name the terms, such as liquidating preferences when the firm is sold. Do the investors get 1X or 2X or 3X back plus participate with the common shareholders?
