Transactions cards are now being used by over 80% of the world’s population and are becoming a fact of life and an essential component of financial systems and transactions. Jerry will discuss the implications of the growing use of transactions cards for consumers, businesses, governments, and the economy in general. He will provide an assessment of the current market status of transactions cards, including smart cards, and provide a projection of their future use.
Jerry was the development manager for magnetic striped cards at IBM. He has authored 18 books on cards and electronic banking. He works with international clients in the payments and card technology industries. He writes commentaries for the American Banker newspaper.
