Dr. LaVaughn M. Henry is the Director of U.S. Economic Analysis for the PMI Group, in the Economics & Corporate Strategy Group. He is responsible for developing PMIís economic, housing and mortgage market forecasts. An accomplished public speaker, Dr. Henry regularly presents to various industry, government, and other professional organizations. In conjunction with the companyís Chief Economist and Strategist, Dr. David Berson, he also co-authors the companyís premier economic publications: The Economic and Real Estate Trends Report and The Housing & Mortgage Market Review.
Dr. Henry has led in the development of the companyís next generation of econometric models that forecast the likelihood of home price declines, the quarterly forecast of home price appreciation in each of the nationís 381 MSAs, and various other predictive tools used in the forecasting and assessment of the housing and mortgage markets. Prior to working at PMI, Dr. Henry was the Director of Communications at Fannie Mae in their Housing and Community Development Group. He has also held senior economist positions in the U.S. Congress, OFHEO (the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight), Price Waterhouse and Ford Motor Company.
Dr. Henry received both his Doctorate and Masters degrees from Harvard University in the field of Economics, specializing in the areas of Finance and Industrial Organization.
