Dr. Jasmin Ansar
Dr. Ansar is an economist currently teaching at Mills College, Oakland and at Sonoma State. Prior to this, Jasmin worked as a Climate Economist at the Union of Concerned Scientists. The focus of her work at UCS was designing and advocating for effective global warming policies with particular emphasis on proposals currently being reviewed in California and as part of the Western Climate Initiative.
Prior to joining UCS, Dr. Ansar was a professor for ten years in England and taught Econometrics and Economics at the City University, London. She spent a year at Purdue University as a visiting professor and then spent the next twenty years as an economist and strategic planner in the energy sector working on regulatory reform initiatives, energy efficiency and environmental policy.
Dr. Ansar has a PhD in economics from the University of Southampton, England, a Diploma/MSc. in econometrics and economics from the University of Southampton, England and a B.A. in economics with mathematics from Sussex University, England. |
